Oregon Jamboree--Day 1, August 1st

Oregon Jamboree's first day was today. It was cloudy & overcast all day, with quite a bit of drizzle. It never really rained hard, just enough to make us damp...but it all dried quickly.

We saw some great shows today, and some old friends that we seem to only see once a year. Kristin met up with her old friend "Fred" and they picked up right where they left off....picking on each other!! They had a pretty fun water fight, and after emptying the two water bottles they had, the had to call a truce, since Fred's sister offered to give Kristin her cell phone, so that she could call their Mom! Needless to say, Fred backed off...and just played with Kristin, making a fun "pull the hair" picture!!

Kristin had fun passing out fliers for the Arts & Crafts festival for Grandma Alice, and we enjoyed our visiting with Pat, Ray, Jim & Robin. Robin & Kristin "tore up the grass" (not the dance floor) in our row, by having a fun time dancing!

We enjoyed having seeing Williams & Ree (The Indian & The White Guy Comedy team), Western Underground, which is Chris LeDouxes old band with a new singer--AND his son, who plays drums. He looks just like his Dad, and has the same energy.

Speaking of Energy--the last two acts were so high energy, we didn't sit much. Trent Tomlinson, who I wasn't too thrilled about seeing surprised me with an awesome show tonight. Of course, Sugarland was incredible--and we had a blast.

It was a long day...we started at 12:30 down on the grounds, and got home tonight at 11:30---Kristin, exhausted from dancing, came in the door, hugged Bill (who bailed out of Jamboree this year because he decided not to fight the crowds), and wend straight to bed. It was a fun day....which will repeat itself tomorrow...only beginning at 9:30!

Stay Tuned!!
