Halloween In Washington

It was a great Halloween Day. We woke early, and left home in time to stop at Camping World in a ucky downpour to buy a replacement cover for one of our vents. Needless to say, they make several sizes, so poor Bill had to crawl on top of the trailer, and measure....thankfully, my sewing kit had a tape--and it worked great!

The rain let up as we were heading through the gorge...and although not Michigan colors it was still very pretty. It was tough catching pictures out of a moving vehicle...but I did get some, along with MANY blurry ones, some sides of trucks, road signs, but overall, a few worth saving. I enjoyed being passenger, as Bill drove most of the way today.

We arrived at Tam & Evan's around 2:30--Mike & Kathy met us there as they had been there since Wednesday. Shortly after Tam & Evan got home...we headed out to do some trick or treating at some of their friends from church. Needless to say, it was incredible. These folks deck out their house--and I mean the whole house in black sheets....their front yard is transformed into a graveyard, and there are even witches flying across the front on a garage door opener track. Way too cool!

Afterward, we drove around Richland checking out some of the other places that were decorated cool. This is one of the few things I miss about a neighborhood....Halloween night. We headed back to the house....got some quick supper, and headed out after Jen & Brad arrived with kids to trick or treat. It takes a long time around the block with little legs! The kids had a blast...we adults had a good visit, and Evan even Trick-or-Beered......very funny.

After the fun, we headed back to Tam & Ev's to enjoy the company of those we went to see. There were 10 adults, and of couse, the two that didn't go to bed at 8:30! We had a nice visit, and then all retired around 11.

Saturday was a lazy morning. We had coffee, visited, played with babies & kids and enjoyed each other. Around 11, a few of us hit the usual favorite stop in Proser...Chukar Cherries. We bought our favorites, and a few new items, and headed back to pick up groceries, get some lunch, and of course, the all important nap. There were kids sleeping, and what better way to be quiet so they can rest??!!

Saturday evening brought a great meal...with a roast off the Traeger that had smoked all day. Great Job Evan! We visited, while some played Cribbage, some played "tinker toys" and some just took it all in. A great lazy day with friends.

Sunday we woke to a beautiful morning, and headed off to church for Olin's Dedication. A great moment to share with great friends.

We had lunch together, enjoyed a last visit, and headed out for home. We arrived home around 7:00--driving straight through except for gas. It's almost 5hours door to door with no stops.

Enjoy the pictures...sorry it took me so long to get them on. Just been busy with catch up these last few days. Next major event is the kids' birthday party on the 15th....stay tuned!
