Cruising--Day Two

Sunday, October 19th, Cruise, Day Two

We woke this morning at 7:30, already pulling into Half Moon Cay, which is a private island to Carnival. After breakfast, some relaxing on our balcony, and what we thought was ample time for the crowds to catch the tender to the island, we headed out, bathing suits, towels and camera’s in hand. We sat for some time, waiting for our tender number to be called (Tenders are shuttle boats to get you from the ship to shore when the water is too shallow for the ship to dock) and after a rousing game of follow the leader, losing Sean & Tracey (they got on an earlier tender) and some delays, we finally arrived on Half Moon Cay at 12:30. Unfortunately, the luncheon was over at one, so we missed it by the time we finally really knew about it, but we sure enjoyed playing in the green ocean water, and having the fun fish swim around our feet. We enjoyed a few hours on the beach, visiting with Sean & Tracey, and then we headed up to check out the small gift shop, and ran into Char, Al and some of their gang. We went to get into line, and it was backed up way to the beach, so we found a cool spot in the Cabana, (the temps were probably in the 90’s today) and had a great time visiting with friends.

We caught one of the last tenders over to the ship, Char & I ran 8 flights of stairs, and were first in the showers when we arrived back at our cabins!! Bill & Al waited for the elevator…and although not as tired, we still all had a nap after our shower, then headed out to bum around. Bill cancelled a shore dive that he had scheduled, as he, Sean & Tracey were able to secure a boat dive in St Thomas (where we will be on Tuesday), and as he was canceling his beach dive, he heard about a two tank boat dive that had just been added 30 minutes prior…so he called Sean & Tracey, they came down, and all three of them got on the two tank dive out of Nassau, which we will be at on Friday. I opted out of this one, as I think snorkeling will get old fast on our trip in St Thomas…watching them all swim around below.

After our booking, we headed to find a cookie (actually, my mission) and I could not find one cookie on that ship…so opted for a small ice cream cone, and after choosing my cone, finding that the ice cream machine wasn’t working. SO…I had a dry cone, and that held my until our 8pm supper time.

We enjoyed some visiting time on the balcony with sean & Tracey, and then headed out to supper. We had a beautiful sunset, and a great day. The sea is a bit rough tonight, while I like that….not sure Tracey is enjoying it as she turned in early. We’re praying that this won’t bother her too much, and that she will be fine in the morning.

Off to bed…having trouble getting pictures to upload from the ship…so stay tuned..I’ll keep trying!!
